Since it might be not a gentoo but gcc bug, I don't hesitate to be closed right away.

These are hard.

There are soft.

Which is why you get errors like:

> /usr/armv6j-hardfloat-linux-gnueabi/bin/ld: error: .libs/libgfortran.so.3.0.0 uses VFP register arguments, .libs/f2c_specifics.o does not
> /usr/armv6j-hardfloat-linux-gnueabi/bin/ld: failed to merge target specific data of file .libs/f2c_specifics.o


I suppose that correcting the FCFLAGS and FFLAGS will fix your problem.

I am not aware I've changed FCFLAGS. Moreover, from my understanding, they are inherited from CFLAGS which does contain '-mfloat-abi=hard'. Can you give me a pointer where it got overwritten?

since we set default float abi in gcc itself, there should be no need to set any flags in our arm profiles
