On my hardened ~amd64 machine with gcc-4.7.2 I see several test failures for gimp. They look like the following: ==== (/var/tmp/portage/media-gfx/gimp-2.8.2-r1/work/gimp-2.8.2/app/tests/.libs/test-tools:29063): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: :0.0 /bin/sh: line 5: 29063 Trace/breakpoint trap GIMP_TESTING_ABS_TOP_SRCDIR=/var/tmp/portage/media-gfx/gimp-2.8.2-r1/work/gimp-2.8.2 GIMP_TESTING_ABS_TOP_BUILDDIR=/var/tmp/portage/media-gfx/gimp-2.8.2-r1/work/gimp-2.8.2 GIMP_TESTING_PLUGINDIRS=/var/tmp/portage/media-gfx/gimp-2.8.2-r1/work/gimp-2.8.2/plug-ins/common GIMP_TESTING_PLUGINDIRS_BASENAME_IGNORES=mkgen.pl ${dir}$tst FAIL: test-tools No protocol specified ==== This was done in a local terminal in an X-Session, so the display should have been there. But maybe the display is just a red herring.
Created attachment 332966 [details] build log (bzipped)
Created attachment 332968 [details] emerge --info
Created attachment 341462 [details] emerge --info I have the same failed test messages on an otherwise stable hardened box (gcc 4.6.3). No grsec messages.
2.8.2 no longer in tree, daring to close as obsolete.
