As far as I can tell 3.6.8 is more stable than 3.5.7 - as least it seems to have gotten rid of an anoying lockup of the i915 graphics driver. Reproducible: Always
the kernel team knows what and when stabilize.
The kernel team is looking how 3.6.10 goes for at least a week, then they will maybe put that one up for stabilization; they kept wanting to do it, but every time another version came out. Source: mpagano from #gentoo-kernel on FreeNode.

Fair enough - I've just seen a quite a few comments asking users to create stabilization requests for packages and 3.6.8 seemed better to me than 3.5.7. I won't reopen this - looking forward to 3.6.10++?
