after this
 I am told to

media-libs/libcanberra-0.29 was built with the following:
USE="alsa gstreamer gtk gtk3 (multilib) oss pulseaudio sound udev -gnome -tdb"
Comment 5 jms 2012-12-06 14:58:55 UTC
ok problem was with mesa (/usr/lib64/libEGL.so.1)

in fact when I did
revdep-rebuild -ip --library '/lib64/libudev.so.0' && rm '/lib64/libudev.so.0'
it pulled

and also vlc and chromium
I thought I will
emerge -1v vlc chromium
later

so I ran

problem is revdep-rebuild want to emerge libcanberra before mesa and in that case emrge will fail
 mesa need to be rebuild first.

I guess this has something to do with the ibcanberra ebuild it should say that it need mesa so mesa need to be build first in a case like this.

well anyway rebuilding mesa first was my workaround.
I let the bug open for somone with more knowledg than me check this little story.
I think this is not normal behaviour and revdep-rebuild should have pulled mesa before canberra
Comment 6 jms 2012-12-06 15:03:46 UTC
problem to show up as I ran
revdep-rebuild -ip --library '/lib64/libudev.so.0' && rm '/lib64/libudev.so.0'
beacause of this libudev.so.0 was removed but nothing emerged then when I did emerge -1 consolekit udisks system-config-printer-common bluez pulseaudio mesa xorg-server xf86-input-evdev libcanberra gvfs
problem apear

FORGOT TO PAST INFO PLESE READ LIKE THIS
ok problem was with mesa (/usr/lib64/libEGL.so.1)

WICH PULL OUT

emerge -p1 consolekit udisks system-config-printer-common bluez pulseaudio mesa xorg-server xf86-input-evdev libcanberra gvfs

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild   R    ] sys-auth/consolekit-0.4.5_p20120320-r1
[ebuild   R   ~] sys-fs/udisks-2.0.0

problem is revdep-rebuild want to emerge libcanberra before mesa and in that case emerge will fail

If you run revdep-rebuild with "-p", it's normal that it ends with needed lib being removed.

What does occur when you run:
revdep-rebuild --library '/lib64/libudev.so.0'

And leave it rebuild things? Are they also pulled in in wrong order
Comment 9 Gilles Dartiguelongue (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-12-26 08:04:38 UTC
Please just run revdep-rebuild like pacho said. If it stops at some point, run emerge --resume --skipfirst and rerun revdep-rebuild until there is nothing to rebuild anymore. If you still have problems after that, feel free to reopen this bug report.
