It looks like Centerim-4 is being deprecated soon (plus it's behaving poorly now...), and Centerim-5 (beta) is available.  I tried compiling as-is w/o an ebuild and it seems to work on x86 at least using Gentoo stable libraries.  It now has a dependency on libpurple; I'll see if I can find all the dependencies...
