i think you need to change the second unpack to read just 'unpack test-patch-blahblah.tar.bz2' in the ebuild... i was getting an error the way you had it till i changed that line to read
 
# We unpack this one again so the right files are in the right places
        unpack please_test_with_ut2004-2.tar.bz2
