Description smkbot 2012-12-03 19:48:40 UTC
This bug was filed before, and was resolved fixed when the stages were fixed. https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=432758

The stages are dated again, and I can't reopen the previous bug. The x86 stage is dated 2012.10.16, and the amd64 stage is dated 2012.11.07.

We have new amd64 and x86 stages and isos. The former are already in the mirrors and the later are currently being pushed there.

Thanks!

The stages are 3-4 weeks old again.

It seems the stages are updated once when I file a bug, and then are not updated again. They used to be updated weekly. Is something wrong with the build system?

The stages are being built weekly again.
What is missing is me updating the mirroring scripts, so that we use the new box to push the stages.

Is there an ETA on when the stages will be automatically updated again?

Now that a newer version of gcc (4.6.3) has gone stable, users who download the most recent stage (with gcc 4.5.4) have to follow the gcc upgrade instructions right off the bat. If the a newer stage is published this issue goes away.

Sorry for bumping again, but is there any update on this? Both the x86 and amd64 stages are over a month old again.
Comment 7 Jorge Manuel B. S. Vicetto (RETIRED) Gentoo Infrastructure gentoo-dev 2013-01-30 04:02:58 UTC
This is now finally fixed thanks to Rául work on the buildsync script.
Before someone complains, the latest stages are currently a bit dated because we're experiencing some reboot issues with the new box and I had to drop the 20130124 amd64 stages because of a udev issue - bug 454456.
Comment 8 smkbot 2013-03-04 03:35:55 UTC
The amd64 stage3 is over a month old again -- the latest one is dated 20130130. Could an updated stage be published?
Comment 9 Tomáš Mózes 2013-03-19 12:41:44 UTC
The current stage3 is stage3-amd64-20130130.tar.bz2 - will there be any update? Also, install-amd64-minimal-20130110.iso fails to extract the firmware and thus servers (with bnx2 for example) cannot work with the networking devices.
Comment 10 Jorge Manuel B. S. Vicetto (RETIRED) Gentoo Infrastructure gentoo-dev 2013-04-28 23:46:51 UTC
This is fixed again.
The underlying missing firmware issue is being tracked on another bug.

The stage3 files are over a month old again. The most recent amd64 stage3 is 20130822.
Comment 12 smkbot 2013-12-03 19:31:46 UTC
The stages are again over a month old. The last amd64 stage3 is dated 20131031.

Yes, things break often, we know. We get dozens of emails about it and none of it tends to be easy to fix.

If you want to help, please sign up for the gentoo-releng-autobuilds emails and then help us fix things.
