xmame/xmess 0.80 released today. No special new needs required for the ebuild, version bump works fine. Thanks! Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
Cool, as soon as these are in Portage I'll give them a whirl. 0.78/79 have suddenly started palying up after I upgraded to gentoo-dev-sources 2.6.4: xmess: pcm.c:5899: snd_pcm_mmap_commit: Assertion `frames <= snd_pcm_mmap_avail(pcm)' failed.
Additionally, you should probably run a quick / -j1// on the ebuild, since 0.80.1 supports parallel building now.

Ian: does 0.80.1 solve your ALSA problems?
I think there was some confusion with the original patch for parallel building - it's apparently crashing on the patch author's smp box now: http://toybox.twisted.org.uk/pipermail/xmame/2004-March/006057.html Attaching a patch from the list that should fix it.
Created attachment 27468 [details, diff] makefile.unix / unix.mak patch to fix parallel build
Chris: Unfortunately not. I've opened a seperate bug on that issue as I figured that wasn't particularly relevent to this one: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44744
Thanks, commited.
