I wanted to install bluej, and for that I needed  java-sdk-docs 1.4.1.
Shouldn't the 1.4.2 version of the java docs work equally well as the 1.4.1?
It can't be that much of a difference? Can it?

bluej doesn't depend on a sdk-docs itself, it has to be a jdk you use. If you use the latest jdk's this shouldn't be an issue. Sun just makes all of its old docs EOL so we can't grab at them anymore easily ;) If you have any more questions, feel free to ask
