3.3.9 has been released which is a bugfix release only. I have only renamed my patched ebuild (see syslog-ng-3.3.8.ebuild.patch) to 3.3.9 and seems to work just fine. Announcement: https://lists.balabit.hu/pipermail/syslog-ng-announce/2013-April/000157.html
