The KDE nwf for openoffice 1.1 now has been integrated into the oo.o cvs tree and is reported to be stable. It would be very cool if the OO.o ebuild would have a kde use flag that would build openoffice with this nwf. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
I'm at the moment quite short in time so I could really appreciate any diffs you could send my way to do this (please based on the 1.1.1_rc1 ebuild)
Okay, I'll start looking into figuring this out. It might take a while though since the machine I'll be testing it on is an old celeron 400. Compiling alone will take a bunch of time. If I have permission from my employer, I may see if I can test it out on my work machine.
Joe: > the machine I'll be testing it on is an old celeron 400. Compiling alone will take a bunch of time Do you use ccache? This little prog can speed up the build-process by caching the compiler-output. Because you're basicly compiling every time the same code, the improvement should be quite significant... here, this may also interest you: http://dot.kde.org/1082652256/
Will take a look into this, when I find some time, but it doesn't have highest priority as the NWF stuff should be in OOo 1.1.2 or 1.1.3 anyway...
FYI, Bug 49042 contains an updated ebuild and patches to build OpenOffice with KDE-Widgets.

openoffice-ximian has now the local use flag "ooo-kde" which builds OOo with all the KDE integration stuff. You will have to use the latest - hard masked - version (1.1.55-r1) but it is there :) Closing this
