Description Tim Fleming 2004-03-11 22:53:49 UTC
Trying to boot a VIA EPIA with the 2004.0 LiveCD gives "Extremely broken BIOS". The same CD boots a VIA M6000 fine.

I was able to install Gentoo 2004.0 (stage 1) on this PC after booting with a Knoppix CD.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Insert LiveCD
2. Boot computer
3.

Actual Results:
I don't have the exact message. Something to the effect:

Extremely broken BIOS detected, last attempt with drive
Boot failed: Press any key to retry...

This bug is the result of "strange" hardware with a kernel that hasn't much support for it.
