Description James Kyle 2004-03-11 21:37:01 UTC
Summary is all there is too it. The jp nls patch produces errors which result in unreadable ps files that will crash my printer. I was told by a ghostsript coder that it had to do with the Ryumin to EUC encoding.

Hum, are you able to read the ps file with ps previewer?
(gv, gs, whatever) Also, please give us the output of `emerge info`
and `emerge -pv a2ps`. Thanks in advance.

Oddly enough, I can read the ps with gv. But no one I send the ps to can (they may be using other viewers which don't handle errors as well I would assume). I have reemerged a2ps with the USE=cjk enabled and attached the output of the emerge. I have also created an a2ps test file....very short with one line in it, "This is a test file", and included that as well. (It was one of these files that the gv dev found the error I referenced in the original bug description).

Well, the gods are smiling. After the re-emerge the problem has disappeared and the *.ps file no longer has the error.

Move along folks nothing to see here.....

Thank you for your time, sorry I can't reproduce it.

Never mind. a2ps ebuild had caused a lot of problems so there might
be another one. If you have any problem with it, feel free to post to
bugzilla. I mark the bug as WORKSFORME this time. Please reopen it
if you have the same problem again.

Thanks for using Gentoo ;)
