With kernel 3.7.x the flag VM_RESERVED doesn't exist anymore and should be replaced VM_IO Helmut.
A new snapshot might be created once kernel 3.7 is released. But currently the in-kernel code is not very far behind nouveau's kernel repository. So unless things change, there will be little point in doing so.

Unfortunately the kernel module doesn't build either With 3.7.0_rc6 and CONFIG_ACPI_VIDEO=m CONFIG_DRM=y CONFIG_DRM_KMS_HELPER=y CONFIG_DRM_TTM=y CONFIG_DRM_NOUVEAU=y CONFIG_NOUVEAU_DEBUG=5 CONFIG_NOUVEAU_DEBUG_DEFAULT=3 CONFIG_DRM_NOUVEAU_BACKLIGHT=y with/ without CONFIG_DRM_LOAD_EDID_FIRMWARE=y The kernel fails to build with drivers/built-in.o: In function `nouveau_acpi_edid': (.text+0x12bf21): undefined reference to `acpi_video_get_edid' Unfortunately, I cannot subscribe to LKML at the moment. Perhaps someone at GenToo has a look at it or hands it over to LKML. Thanks, Helmut.
do we really need this package with recent kernels? (we are now with 4.0.5 in stable)
(In reply to Pacho Ramos from comment #3) > do we really need this package with recent kernels? (we are now with 4.0.5 > in stable) No, it should be removed.
x11-base/nouveau-drm is masked for removal.
