I paste into a formsheet a sequence without any newline of 4681 chars. I try to append one more and the small window goes empty. Doesn't happen with opera. I have mozilla 1.6-r1. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.<TEXTAREA COLS="51" ROWS="3" NAME="sequence"></TEXTAREA> 2. 3.
Reopen if the problem persists with a version that is actually in portage now.
I tried now with 20000 chars on Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20051002 The string can be manipulated by appending 2 chars (to be 20002) in lenght. I can double-click the string to select its contents but while the mouse pointer points the browser window, I do not see the line selected(that means it has no some dark colour in the backround and while letters). Instead, the line is empty. When I move the mouse out of the window (so the window manager focuses in another window), then in the above mentioned browser window I do see the selected text. I use fvwm2 window manager.
This doesn't seem to be a gentoo specific bug, I exactly the same results from the binary version straight from mozilla.com/firefox/ Perhaps report the bug to the firefox bug tracker?
