emerge --info

The emerge of net-p2p/mldonkey hangs with:

--------------------------------
     Checking Ocaml compiler.
--------------------------------
checking for ocamlc.opt... /usr/bin/ocamlc.opt
checking for x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-ocamlc... /usr/bin/ocamlc.opt
checking for camlp4... /usr/bin/camlp4
Need build
******** Objective-Caml 3.12.0 is required *********
******* Check http://caml.inria.fr/ ********
Do you want this script to try to download and install ocaml
LOCALLY in mldonkey directory ?

No key has any effect past that...

I am experiencing the same issue here.
Comment 5 Thomas Capricelli 2012-12-07 16:30:24 UTC
same issue here. According to google/forum, quite a lot of people are stuck by this issue.

mldonkey says "Objective-Caml 3.12.0 is required", so i guess the dependancy in the mldonkey ebuild is wrong.

Locally, i fixed the pb by adding this to my /etc/portage/package.mask
# fix wrong dep in mldonkey ebuild
>=dev-lang/ocaml-4.0

hi, mldonkey 3.1.3 is in tree now.

according to http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.os.openbsd.ports/56956, it may work with ocaml4. Please give it a try.
