After updating my plugins today check_http I was not able to check certificates with gnutls USE Flag. Something was wrong with copy and paste. Without gnutls USE Flag the plugin works as expected.
Bug exists and the work around is to do this. USE="-gnutls" emerge -1 nagios-plugins Thanks Chuck Handshy
This is... sort of fixed. The newer 2.x series of nagios-plugins doesn't support gnutls, and the certificate support does work with the default OpenSSL. Since the 1.4.x series is gone, I'm gonna mark this obsolete.
