postgresql's description string says "Based on the gnuconfig eclass". I think nobody would associate the gnuconfig eclass with what PostgreSQL is about. Are more reasonable description should be something like "An object-relational SQL database system"
# emerge -s postgresql Searching... [ Results for search key : postgresql ] [ Applications found : 3 ] * dev-db/postgresql Latest version available: 7.4.1-r4 Latest version installed: [ Not Installed ] Size of downloaded files: 8,936 kB Homepage: http://www.postgresql.org/ Description: Based on the gnuconfig eclass License: POSTGRESQL I just see that postgresql already contains DESCRIPTION="sophisticated Object-Relational DBMS." But this is not shown. Maybe this variable should be defined after inheriting eutils. (actually I don't see a reason why the eutils eclass defines DESCRIPTION, this DESCRIPTION would be wrong in any case)
This only starts with PG 7.4.x; the 7.3 series doesn't inherit any eclasses. I think the DESCRIPTION line just needs to move down or the inherit should move up; whichever is the more accepted arrangement for these things. Hints from the inner circle here?
I just fixed this bug. Thanks for reporting.
