x11-libs/libvdpau-0.5 contains the fix for a flash bug that makes all skin-tones in flash videos appear blue, and vice versa. (I tested it, and the bug is gone) The ebuild has been there since 05 September. This release has just 2 commits more than the currently stable 0.4.1, and one of them is the fix for the above-mentioned flash issue. So I think it should be safe to mark it as stable. Agreed. Let's make it happen. TARGET_KEYWRODS="amd64 x86"
Tested amd64: looks fine here. Tested x86: looks fine here.
amd64 stable
x86 stable, thanks Vicente. Last arch, closing
Just a little QA feedback: While libvdpau 0.5 so far works as expected with nvidia-drivers 313.18, I have had visual corruption issues with it and nvidia-drivers 310.xx and 304.xx from flickering on mythtv to speckled holes in rendering with mplayer and adobe flash. A GTX460 and 9400GS were used to test and both machines are amd64. These glitches may have been fringe and/or codec specific as well, making it difficult to test for reliably.

This library is just a shim library to load the real VDPAU provider based on your X setup. This library or version would not have caused any of the above issues. It would be the real underlying VDPAU implementation from NVIDIA.

It would be the real underlying VDPAU implementation from NVIDIA. While true that it is a shim, switching back to libvdpau 0.4.1 and changing nothing else improved the behavior of vdpau on both machines. Once 313.18 eventually goes stable, whatever quirk behavior I encountered will be buried anyway, so it is at your discretion whether any action should be taken.
