Description Christopher Hayen 2004-03-07 20:31:44 UTC
i get this error while trying to set up acpi sleep and hibernate in klaptop after hitting the "Setup Helper Application" button under acpi in the klaptop config utility:

The /usr/kde/3.2/bin/klaptop_acpi_helper application does not seem to have the same size or checksum as when it was compiled we do NOT recommend you proceed with making it setuid-root without further investigation

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. right click klaptop in system tray and hit "configure klaptop"
2. hit the "acpi config tab"
3. hit "setup helper application"

Actual Results:
a pop-up dialog with the described error

Expected Results:
setup helper apps i guess, i'm not trying it.

this is a brand new install of 2004.0. i used the live cd and the pentium 4
packages cd to install.

i also checked the md5sum of the iso and it's correct.

<shrug> - an upstream issue?
Comment 3 Caleb Tennis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-07-09 12:09:45 UTC
don't really know how to resolve this, but i don't know the first thing about it. assuming it is upstream issue, closing due to age of bug.
