Comment 1 Mark Purtill 2004-04-25 13:02:23 UTC
I still have the problem with ksensors-0.7.2; I tried removing the qt-3.0.5, and that (as expected) had no effect: the error still occurred.
Comment 2 Dominik Stadler (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-05-01 05:47:49 UTC
I don't think this is because of qt, this seems to be related to the version of gcc that you use.

The code that fails to compile is

class QLcd {
  ...

  static const uint QLcd::asciiSegments[128];
  static const int QLcd::segmentsCoords[32][8];
};

Somehow it does not allow "QLcd::" for you. However this is valid in C++, can you try to use a newer gcc and see if this still occurrs?
Comment 3 Mark Purtill 2004-05-01 15:46:58 UTC
I'm already using gcc 3.3.2-r5, which is the most recent stable version. (I'm reluctant to go to a ~x86 version just for ksensors, especially as I think with the 2.6 kernel, the sensors don't work anyway.)
Comment 4 Caleb Tennis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-05-25 17:49:05 UTC
ksensors development has stopped about 2 years ago, so unless someone comes up with a patch for this (and reopens the bug) it's probably not going to be fixed.
Comment 5 Mark Purtill 2004-11-08 14:47:57 UTC
Any replacements available? The only similar program I spotted in portage was xsensors, and it just said:

Sensor 'w83697hf' not supported by xsensors!
Segmentation fault

Bugs cleanup for LATER packages.
This one is wontfix.
