Ebuild patch. You can replace logrotate-3.8.0-fbsd.patch with it.

Problems seem related to including alloca.h which is located in stdlib.h, a bug which I thought had been fixed.

When building with the acl use-flag it also fails during linking when it tries to link with libacl. This is not necessary on FreeBSD as the acl functionality is in libc

Fine. I've added your patch and KEYWORDed 3.8.2
