Description Thomas Buntrock 2004-03-05 03:57:59 UTC
Hi,

we provide a mirror for portage and complete at the University of Darmstadt, Germany. The current IP-Address is: 141.12.220.13. We are currently syncing the portage tree from rsync1.us.gentoo.org and the complete tree from gentoo@ftp.oregonstate.edu. We are also in the DNS cycle for complete. We are moving to another building on Mar-23 2004 and will have another IP-Address afterwards. The IP-Address of the mirror will be: 130.83.164.194. We except some downtime, but hopefully no more than two days.

Please make sure to allow us the rsync1.us access with the new IP and also update the DNS record. You may also add us to the rsync-DNS-record for the portage tree as well.

Thanks

Thanks for the warning.

If you can post back here when you're about to take the server down, that
would be great (minimizing the interruption). Naturally, I'm not asking you
to post right before you unplug. The day of, or a day or two in advance
is fine.

Hi,

you asked me to remind you again. The servers are going down tonight around
7 pm CET.

Sorry for the short notice. I wanted to remind you yesterday, but I forgot.

Thanks.

rsync15.de now points to 130.83.164.194, which also has access to rsync1.us.
You should be able to sync within 30 minutes or so.

I've removed 141.12.220.13 from the rsync1.us access list, and also removed
it from the .de rotation.

Let me know when the server is up, and I'll add the new IP to the .de rotation.

Thanks again,
Pete.

Hi,

The mirror is up again. It took a little longer than expected, but
I wanted to make sure that it works all right.

rsync rsync://mirrors.sec.infformatik.tu-darmstadt.de

You have been added back into rotation and added to our download mirrors listing. Thanks for the help and the bandwidth! Gentoo appreciates it. Cheers!
