Created attachment 325126 [details] This is how it should look. It took me a while to figure this out. Because I had switched laptops I thought it was something with the new config, but it turns out to be the recent update of vte. I've had this bash prompt (or something like it) for a while. It's pretty much always worked, but after the x11-libs/vte-0.34.0 update the underline characters at the end don't render all the way. It doesn't paste well so I'll have to include screenshots.
... And of course now that I submitted this bug I can't repeat it. Closing until/unless it recurs.
Created attachment 325128 [details] vte-0.34.0 Ok, I had another terminal window open and so it was still using the older library. Here's the screenshot with the bash prompt running vte-0.34.0. As you can see the underline characthers stop pre-maturely under the "pts/2". (the font rendering looks better though (sigh)).
vte-0.34.0 addes some bugfixes to box drawing characters, but maybe those changes introduced new bugs. Please report the issue directly to the vte developers, and make sure to give them your bash prompt config: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=vte;version=0.34.x Then please give the upstream bug URL here so we can keep track of it.
