A quote from the email: "Note that the driver is still considered experimental, use at your own risk." Doesn't sound like something we want to be adding just yet. Aside from that it doesn't buy you anything to use this iswraid driver instead of the in kernel MD drivers.
I thought a lot of features included in the kernel is still marked as "experimental"? It's still nice to have an option to take the risk as this Intel P4 platform is getting popular. You will see this problem popping up in many forums/mailing-lists. Would be nice for gentoo to get ahead. It does differ very much from MD drivers because this will work in a dual boot enviornment and provides a migration opportunity for current windows users.
We're going to wait until this driver matures a bit more. Things marked "experimental" in the kernel are far different than experimental patches.
