Description Richard Esplin 2004-03-03 09:55:05 UTC
In the Attach File file selector in KMail's Composer, if I drag a file (which usually occurs on accident when I'm trying to select it), the cursor becomes a circle with a line through it and no other mouse actions work. Though it appears that all of KDE is frozen, it is really just that kmail won't release the mouse cursor. xkill won't kill kmail because of an "unable to grab cursor" error. It appears that KMail still has keyboard focus as well, as most keys will not work. Hitting Esc an the keyboard does abort the operation and return control to the user.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open KMail, open Composer
2. Select Attach->Attach File
3. Drag a file in the file selector dialog.

Actual Results:
Cursor stops responding, and KMail won't release mouse focus.

Expected Results:
Nothing. It should have ignored the drag operation.

Which Version of KDE/KMail are you using?
Comment 2 Richard Esplin 2004-03-11 10:08:48 UTC
I am using KMail 1.6 and KDE 3.2.0.
Comment 3 Richard Esplin 2004-03-11 10:11:08 UTC
I am using KMail 1.6 and KDE 3.2.0. I emerged just a couple of days before submitting the bug.
Comment 4 Caleb Tennis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-05-18 16:52:13 UTC
persists in 3.2.2? I can't reproduce here; if so, you should probably notify the kde developers at bugs.kde.org
