As suggested by Diego on the mailing list, it would be better if we used: 1) USE=upnp for port forwarding using UPnP-IGD, 2) USE=dlna for multimedia magic using UPnP/DLNA. This way, people who only want port forwarding using UPnP wouldn't get additional dependencies and code for DLNA which they have no use for. Note: this is a tracker. Please file bugs for the packages separately, and make them block it.

We reached a compromise that USE=upnp-av will be used for UPnP/AV.
