Description Philipp Sury 2004-03-02 15:07:50 UTC
In the subsection CFLAGS and CXXFLAGS (see submitted URL) the webdesigner should pick a better font to make clear in text and Code Listings 16 to 18 that the -O2 flag has to be set typing an O (as in the vowel) and not 0 (as in the digit).

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to the submitted URL
2. Use -02 instead of -O2 in /etc/make.conf
3. run scripts/bootstrap.sh

Actual Results:
run scripts/bootstrap.sh failed saying -03 is an unknown parameter.

Expected Results:
The software performed correctly - the website was misleading the user.

This bug information is clearly directed towards the gentoo handbook website as
I don't know how the problem's solved in papercopies.

I think the font is good enough for it's current purpose. It is a frequent mistake to use -03 instead of -O3, but that's something people will always make.

I've updated the paragraph to clearly state that it is a "O" , not a "zero".

Marking this bug as WONTFIX (although the real bug is fixed :)
