Description Keith 2012-09-16 07:56:26 UTC
digikam build fails. Unfortunately that's all I can tell you, since the build process provides no information whatsoever. At the point of failure it merely states:

[ 61%] Built target digikamdatabase
make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/media-gfx/digikam-2.6.0/work/digikam-2.6.0_build'
make: *** [all] Error 2
 * ERROR: media-gfx/digikam-2.6.0 failed (compile phase):
 *   emake failed

And that's it.

Delving into the CMakeFiles directory reveals this at the end of the CMakeError.log:

Determining if the function pthread_create exists in the pthreads failed with the following output:
...
/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/4.7.1/../../../../x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld: cannot find -lpthreads
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status

Rerunning ldconfig and trying again makes no difference.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge -v media-gfx/digikam

Actual Results:
emake failed

Expected Results:
digikam should build and install successfully

This is a gcc-4.7.1 system, but I've already resolved incompatibilites with all the other packages, and digikam did in fact previously build under gcc-4.7.1, since it's apparently been patched to do so, but a recent world update seems to have broken something it depends on.

I just unmasked digikam-2.7.0: same result. Also the same result with 2.8.0 and 2.9.0.

Other packages build OK (e.g. okular), so the toolchain is not broken, and revdep-rebuild finds nothing except digikam.
Comment 5 Keith 2012-09-16 22:49:43 UTC
I missed this earlier in the build log:

/usr/lib64/libf2c.so.2: undefined reference to `MAIN__'
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status

Then found this:

http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-7136586.html

An update to libf2c fixed the problem.
