Hi, allthough xvid 1.0 is still a release candidate some movies are encoded with it. But all ebuilds play it jerky. Yesterday I tried with libavcoded from cvs and had no problems. Can you guys make an ebuild which uses libavcodec from cvs, please? Ty Sebastian Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Hello, I tried cvs from mplayer/libavcodec and it was pretty unstable. In the end I removed the xvid ebuild, downloaded and installed xvid-1.0_rc3, emerged mplayer 1.0_pre3 and removed the fourcc lines from ffmpeg from the codecs.conf file in /usr/share/mplayer. This is working really good for the past two days now. cu sebastian
Could I request that somebody post a link to a downloadable xvid example to test with. Thanks
Here's a link to a movie encoded with XviD-1.0-RC2 http://nato.daddeln.de/pv/images/xvid/movie_final.avi (3MB) taken from http://nato.daddeln.de/pv/index.php3?nav=xvid mplayer 0.92 plays some parts jerky and prints some errors: .................................... vop not coded 15% 0% 0.0% 0 0 33% vop not coded 15% 0% 0.0% 0 0 33% vop not coded 14% 0% 0.0% 0 0 33% vop not coded 14% 0% 0.0% 0 0 33% vop not coded 13% 0% 0.0% 0 0 32% vop not coded 13% 0% 0.0% 0 0 32% vop not coded 13% 0% 0.0% 0 0 32% vop not coded 13% 0% 0.0% 0 0 31% vop not coded 12% 0% 0.0% 0 0 30% vop not coded 12% 0% 0.0% 0 0 30% vop not coded 12% 0% 0.0% 0 0 30% vop not coded 12% 0% 0.0% 0 0 30% ....................................
The link above seems to have changed. It is now http://nato.daddeln.de/pv/tutorials/xvid/movie_final.avi taken from http://nato.daddeln.de/pv/index.php?nav=xvid&site=5 Another link: http://web.ics.purdue.edu/%7Emimakyur/downloads/ (look for MONSTER-TV.Teaser[Kotonoha].avi) Hope this helps
No problem with mplayer-1.0-pre4 (stable on x86 already). So bug is old news. Sebastian
