Normally I don't add the prereleases to the tree unless there is a very good reason to. 4.06_pre11 was an exception due to linux-headers compatibility.

Is there a specific need that you have for 5.0_pre, now that 4.06 is released?

I hope this doesn’t come off as a bug hijack, but you may want to start looking at the 6.00 pre release:

The ebuild will require significant updates for it.  And perhaps an EAPI update, at least to grab the .xz version instead of the noticeably larger bz2 version.
