Description ismohaa 2012-09-08 12:45:45 UTC
Upon opening a new torrent for download, Ktorrent 4.3.0 fails with the message "One or more storage volumes are not mounted.", despite all relevant volumes being mounted. Then it just sits there, refusing to download anything.

Since this makes the entire application almost completely useless, (but the application itself is not critical or irreplacable), I've classified the bug as "major". Reverting to version 4.2.1 fixes the problem. This downgrade causes portage to automatically downgrade libktorrent from version 1.3.0 to version 1.2.1, so the bug could be in either of these packages.

Sorry, i can't reproduce the behaviour. If you have further problems please report to upstream.

ebuld that uses the patch
Comment 4 Garth 2012-10-26 03:57:27 UTC
I had the exact same problem. This seems to come up in 2 cases and stems from net-libs/libktorrent

1- BTRFS subvolumes, see upstream: https://bugs.kde.org/306825 (apparently Solid can't deal with it).
2- not having kde-base/solid installed.

I'm of the 2nd case, the system with ktorrent has extremely minimal kde, and since I never used a kde-meta package nor used a useflag which requires solid, it never got installed, causing the issue.

Both are solved the same way, see comment #9 on the referenced upstream bug report. I've attached a patch which contains the same fix, and an ebuild which uses the patch.

I don't know if the current fix in upstream will stay or eventually revert back to using solid, but I think it would be good to have a solid use flag on libktorrent which would continue to allow the use of ktorrent without having to install solid.

(The 2nd case isn't part of the upstream bug report, and I'm not sure if I should report seeing as I'm fairly certain Gentoo is the only distro which allow kde to be built without solid. Let me know if I should report it)
