Created attachment 323186 [details] error log for x86_64 cups compiled hplip drivers 3.12.6, for the above laserjet,selected the pertinent driver in the list in printer setup. BUT noted that it requires a proprietry driver plugin. For the life of me I'm not able to locate this missing item. I select an item to print ie: a pdf file,it is processed and passed to the printer but thats as far as things happen ,according to the error log the filter fails but it's not all that verbose as to what fails.
I noted that the hplip drivers on the hp.com site have been updated to 3.12.9 But I'm not able to compile same as there are syntax errors in the setup.py file and my knowledge of python is miserable
