On a unicode Gentoo system with German localization, the davfs2 man pages display with ISO 8859-1 encoding, so all the umlauts appear as combinations including the à character. Other man pages display as expected. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set system locale to de_DE.UTF-8. Assigning the bug to myself as I am the proxied maintainer.
I can't reproduce this with davfs2-1.5.2. The German manpage shows the umlauts correctly for me. Feel free to reopen if that's not the case for you.
