Mozilla provides for extended support release for firefox/thunderbird, they are intended for groups who deploy and maintain the desktop environment in large organizations such as universities and other schools, county or city governments and businesses.

Some website (e.g. government) may official support firefox esr only.

use version 10 which is in the tree, it is already the esr release.

does it targets for esr ONLY? does non-esr version will never go to stable version?

10.0.X is the esr release, non-esr releases will never see stable in gentoo, we will only keep the esr releases stable.
