Description Stephan Karacson 2012-08-29 18:55:41 UTC
Send files to my phone over bluetooth fails (what worked for years).

I mixed this behaviour up with the bug https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411381 which seems to be different,
Andreas K. Hüttel told me. He suggested to put him on cc (in comment #9 that doesn't show up somehow)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select file with bluedevil to sent
2. progressbar of kde shows up
3.

1. browse phone with bluedevil
2. drag&drop file to the phone
Actual Results:
file doesn't show up on phone

Expected Results:
file does show up on phone

Phone:
Nokia 95 8GB
Packages:
sys-apps/dbus-1.6.2
net-wireless/bluedevil-1.2.3
net-wireless/bluez-4.99

Tried kernels:
3.5.3-gentoo
3.4.9-gentoo
3.4.9 vanilla

Thank you for helping!
Comment 1 Johannes Huber (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-09-04 13:42:07 UTC
Do you tried a newer version of net-wireless/bluez?
Comment 2 Stephan Karacson 2012-09-04 18:35:22 UTC
net-wireless/bluez-4.101-r3 fails too.
Phone asks the user for connection, but file is not delivered.
What does this error say? I can't find anything to hang on.
are the "unset" messages something?

dcidump while sending a file

hcid dump sinding a file, im realy depressed up to now as I can't understand these pairings.
Comment 4 Stephan Karacson 2012-09-13 16:07:04 UTC
moved /etc/dbus-1 away and remerged all packages where files belonged to and tried kernel 3.0.17-gentoo-r2, no success.
Comment 5 Stephan Karacson 2012-09-13 16:24:33 UTC
Failed reciever: Nokia N95 8GB, Nokia 6131
Failed sender: 2 Gentoo-Boxes (M17xR3 Laptop, Desktop with D-Link USB Bluetooth) up to now.

Am I the only one that can't send bluetoothfiles?

workaround-script with working obex push

I'm not the only one!
See https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=753617

Added a testscript where push works (taken from https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=753617#c31 )

what now?
Comment 7 Stephan Karacson 2013-02-09 15:17:41 UTC
after an upgrade to obex-data-server-0.4.6 I gave the bug another try.
Sending now works for several files. No fail today.
Please confirm.
Up to now I close if theres no protest.

(ps: kernel is gentoo-sources 3.6.11 now, libbluedevil 1.9.2, bluedevil 1.2.4. Fedora 18 seems to have fixed it too by version upgrade)
