This is amply described here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/708308 To connect to a GroupWise server using Evolution the following entries are needed in /etc/services. groupwise 1677/tcp The reported error was "Host lookup failed: groupwise.example.co.uk: Servname not supported for ai_socktype". I have performed some experiments and only /tcp is needed to connect, /udp seems unnecessary. Reproducible: Always Port 1677 is the default port used by a GroupWise POA (Post Office Agent) but it can be changed. I suggest adding the default entry to /etc/services anyway but a note at the end of the ebuild could point out that Evolution will fail to connect unless the port specified in Mail Accounts -> Receiving Email, Server Type "Novell GroupWise", Configuration -> Port does not match up with the port number specified in /etc/services.
/etc/services belongs to sys-apps/baselayout; reassigning to baselayout maintainers.
