mucke is a clone of music123. It is a command-line tool that plays various sound file formats using external programs defined in a config file. music123 is available in debian, and I really liked it. However, when I switched to gentoo, I found out that music123 was written in ada. This is not a problem for binary based distributions like debian, but for gentoo it is... I found the idea of such a little package depending on an ada compiler not too pretty. So I wrote mucke, a clone of music123 in python. I suggest putting mucke in the media-sound category. Note that I have no previous experience in writing ebuilds, so don't hesitate to point out where I got something wrong. thanks stefan Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Created attachment 26512 [details] the ebuild
Created attachment 26513 [details] an update already this fixes a bug in the ebuild above: all the README files from the source package are now being installed properly. my first submission only copies one of them.
Doesn't play any of my mp3 files at all, sjis/euc-jp or en_US encoded otherwise.
