Created attachment 321486 [details, diff] patch for libva-intel-driver-1.0.18-r1.ebuild Is this what you mean?
same here... I re-manifested it for the time being.
AFAIK cgit just builds the tarball on the fly each time and the gz/tar timestamp is different for each fetch. No retagging has been probably been done. wget http://cgit.freedesktop.org/vaapi/intel-driver/snapshot/intel-driver-1.0.18.tar.gz mv intel-driver-1.0.18.tar.gz intel-driver-1.0.18.tar.gz.old wget http://cgit.freedesktop.org/vaapi/intel-driver/snapshot/intel-driver-1.0.18.tar.gz ls -l intel-driver-1.0.18.tar.gz* md5sum intel-driver-1.0.18.tar.gz* output: -rw------- 1 jkarlson jkarlson 426213 Aug 16 21:44 intel-driver-1.0.18.tar.gz -rw------- 1 jkarlson jkarlson 426213 Aug 16 21:43 intel-driver-1.0.18.tar.gz.old 7de5597142abb61b66d295c2fb5062c8 intel-driver-1.0.18.tar.gz 114ca7b0a5f6bd647d8d2ee579e8fc0b intel-driver-1.0.18.tar.gz.old
Same problem. Please save tar in "http://dev.gentoo.org/~aballier/libva/${P}.tar.xz"
(In reply to comment #4) > AFAIK cgit just builds the tarball on the fly each time and the gz/tar > timestamp is different for each fetch. how comes libva is fine and it has always been fine with .tar.bz2 ?

No idea, perhaps bz2 and xz are cached or doesn't have timestamp. wget http://cgit.freedesktop.org/vaapi/libva/snapshot/libva-1.1.0.tar.bz2 gives me 404 so I can't test. Anyways running the 5 commands I pasted gives reproducibly different checksums, and that's the thing that matters, just redigest is not going to help. It seems that checksums are constant for bz2 and xz.
ok, thanks switched to .xz then :) i only want to avoid .bz2 for some time since the one in our mirrors is not the good one
