The correct(or proper) option to enable kvm in qemu-kvm is "-enable-kvm" not "--enable-kvm". Please check all available options with the "qemu-kvm -help".

Right you are. That's slipped by for quite a while now. I've made the change retroactively and in the next ebuild bump everyone will get the fix.
