Created attachment 321046 [details] output In any case, I can not quit the software, all famous keys are useless: q, esc, ^C, ^X ... In most case, the software won't show anything usefull, just garbage on screen. See log1 In some rare case, if I start it from a console located in a particular monitor (I have 6 monitors, this will work in only one of them), I can get a welcome screen, and a map of the sky, but that's all. I know there should be options (because I have paid the Android version that also deeply sux), but all I can see are strange garbage. And I can not quit exit or cancel the app. The only way to quit the app is to ... killall stellarium So, the package is just unusable for me.

Created attachment 321050 [details] what I get on screen Oh, I found an other way to kill it: press F11 to quit full screen, then it comes down to a windows, and my window manager will offer me a button to close it. Works in both cases.
Please post your `emerge --info sci-astronomy/stellarium' output in a comment.

Also, please attach the output from "emerge -evp stellarium"

It's not just Gentoo, I have also tried Debian, and Android, and all 3 have ... too many bugs. I have rarely such a broken app. Maybe Xorg 1.5 or Mozilla >=3.0 or TB >=2.0 have ever been ...
it's CANTFIX without proper bug reporting. reopeon if you decide to revisit.
CANTFIX != DONTWANTTOFIX when you can tell what's missing ... Anyway, Gentoo never dared fixing any X issue I ever had.
