I can see on kernel.org that module-init-tools 3.0 has been released 23 Feb.  The latest ebuild is a prerelease.  Will a new ebuild appear soon.

I have a problem with the Linuxant winmodem drivers, and they suggested updating module-init-tools.  Is it safe to update to one of the 3.0 prereleases, or will it break my system?

Is there anything wrong with 3.0 final?  I installed it fine and it works, but its not in portage yet.
