Created attachment 320804 [details] QA notices for glibc 2.15 on arm
Created attachment 320820 [details] QA notices for glibc 2.15 on ppc64 The same QA issues come up on ppc64.
hrm, please post the full build log. glibc specifically does not build with fortify source enabled, so i don't know why it's being enabled for you.
Created attachment 320852 [details] Build log for glibc-2.15-r2 on ppc64 If the ppc64 build log is not sufficient, I'll prepare the arm as well.
i have to assume this is the hardened toolchain doing stuff it shouldn't. i just built glibc on ppc64 w/out any warnings.
(In reply to comment #5) > i have to assume this is the hardened toolchain doing stuff it shouldn't. i > just built glibc on ppc64 w/out any warnings. I did it in a chroot on timberdoodle with a fresh stage3, vanilla everything. Feel free to take a look in /home/blueness/ppc64. The buildlog is in my home directory. The arm was done with hardened.
i don't know what "timberdoodle" is. only remote ppc64 system i have access to is rooster.
(In reply to comment #7) > i don't know what "timberdoodle" is. only remote ppc64 system i have access > to is rooster. timberdoodle.gentoo.osuosl.org = 140.211.15.158. ranger gave me an account. POWER7 (architected) No problem, I'll repeat on rooster and report back. I have access.

I have access. Okay I found the culprit. Its FEATURES="test". Without tests, it compiles perfectly, no QA issues at all. I am confused as to why 'make -j1 -k check' causes this. I'll test on arm too, but I've got a feeling it will be the same there. I also tested on mips64el, ABI = o32, n32, n64 and with FEATURES="test" the build dies on some test, but without tests, it compiles just fine. Close invalid?
these test cases are specifically designed to testing fortify, so the warnings are correct -- things are overflowed on purpose. not sure if there's a way to silence these sanely.
