Description valli 2004-02-26 14:16:02 UTC
If I want to eject my cdrom (Sony Electronics CDU611-F)
the cdrom opens (for about 1 sec), then closes (for about 3 sec), then open ...
and finally closes and after this the eject-program terminates.
I think it should simply open the cdrom and terminate afterwards with the open cdrom

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. eject
2.
3.

Actual Results:
the cdrom opens (for about 1 sec), then closes (for about 3 sec), then open ...
and finally closes and after this the eject-program terminates.

Expected Results:
I think it should simply open the cdrom and terminate afterwards with the open cdrom

Comment 1 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2004-10-03 02:31:21 UTC
sounds like a kernel problem ...

still happens with say 2.6.x or 2.4.27 ?
Comment 2 valli 2004-10-03 06:18:22 UTC
I have at the moment kernel 2.6.8.
Remarkably the behaviour changed to the following:
the cdrom opens (for about 2 sec), then closes
and after this the eject-program terminates.
Unfortunately this is still not the expected behaviour.
Comment 3 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2004-10-03 11:08:29 UTC
sounds like misbehaving kernel then ...
Comment 4 Daniel Drake (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-10-13 02:06:12 UTC
Sounds like an upstream bug. Could you please file a report at http://bugzilla.kernel.org ?
