Description Fabian Groffen gentoo-dev 2012-08-05 12:06:07 UTC
chroot.c: In function 'set_additional_groups':
chroot.c:103:16: error: expected specifier-qualifier-list before 'typedef'
make[3]: *** [chroot.o] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving directory `/usr/home/ruurd/gentoo/var/tmp/portage/sys-apps/coreutils-8.17/work/coreutils-8.17/src'

This happens in all 8-series coreutils, GCC 4.6.3 doesn't seem to understand the typedef inside struct here.

Considering a mask of GCC >=4.3 on FreeBSD 9.1 for the moment.
Comment 1 Fabian Groffen gentoo-dev 2012-08-05 12:58:29 UTC
fails with gcc 4.7.1 too
Comment 2 Richard Yao (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-08-05 13:54:38 UTC
This only affects GCC 4.6 and later. GCC 4.5.4 works without any problems.
Comment 3 Yuta SATOH 2014-04-12 13:34:32 UTC
I was able to compile coreutils-8.22 with gcc-4.8.2.

This is no longer a problem with the latest keyworded versions of gcc and coreutils, so I lifted the mask.
