Do not file bugs for things like this.

Besides the fact that you don't mention which ARCH you are on. Packages are not just unmasked for all ARCHes because one user says it works for him. Unless it is a security issue, we like to leave unstable packages out in the wild a little longer and then developers on various ARCHes can unmask it as they see fit.

Well the bug report states amd64 so thats pretty straight forward. Next the amd64 porting team states that amd64 users report working ebuilds that are masked.

Alright my bad on not catching the platform setting.

I still want to let the dust settle for a bit. I only put this ebuild out yesterday.

Do you use gnome?
Comment 4 postmodern 2004-02-26 15:09:13 UTC
Well I use pieces of gnome. Technically I'm using fluxbox window manager 0.9.8. Understandable about stabilizing the code base for amd64, but me and many others out there want to get the amd64 port setup and going for others to follow with ease. Forgive my eagerness.

already unmasked for ~amd64. check to make sure you have "~amd64" in your ACCEPT_KEYWORDS.
Comment 6 Don Seiler (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-03-08 12:38:17 UTC
jheubel I think the user wanted to see it marked stable for amd64. amd64 does not currently have a stable version of gaim.

I'll note that whenever I do repoman scan in gaim I get errors about bad depends with gcc and amd64. So I have to use --ignore-other-arches.

If you guys want to mark gaim-0.75-r10 stable (or -r8, where everyone else is) that is fine with me.
Comment 7 postmodern 2004-03-08 13:37:26 UTC
I would just like to see atleast one version of gaim unmasked for the ease of use by others. Thank you for your time.

Marked 0.75-r8 stable
