I'm opening this bug to track the work about moving make.conf and make.profile from /etc to /etc/portage in the stages. This will start by affecting the weekly builds. * update catalyst. The required changes[1][2] submitted by Jeremy were already committed to the repository. * release catalyst. This will be done in a few days as catalyst-2.0.10. * news item. A proposal was sent to the gentoo-dev ml[3]. * update installation handbook [1] - http://git.overlays.gentoo.org/gitweb/?p=proj/catalyst.git;a=commitdiff;h=94fba720386cfe9a1c40136ef0c28059dfc273de [2] - http://git.overlays.gentoo.org/gitweb/?p=proj/catalyst.git;a=commitdiff;h=98727c755fdf5ecc1863e29f50da02b55ce5160c [3] - http://marc.info/?l=gentoo-dev&m=134308881615265&w=1 Is anything else missing in this list?
Created attachment 319076 [details, diff] Initial proposal for handbook update This is a first patch to update the handbook for this change.
Since the change itself is not intrusive and already supported, I went ahead and committed the changes (together with the changes on non-handbook, GDP-maintained documents). Thanks for the patch!
I've commited the news item and catalyst-2.0.11 was marked stable, so I'm closing this as fixed. Thanks to everyone that helped with this.
