I've noticed that there are a number of entries on packages.gentoo.org that get listed but do not seem to have a recent upgrade. Today's (2/24/04) examples include mplayer 1.0_pre1-3 and alsaplayer 0.99.76. The text for mplayer 1.0_pre1-3 reads: Description: Media Player for Linux Changes: 16 Jan 2004; Bartosch Pixa <darkspecter@gentoo.org> mplayer-1.0_pre3.ebuild: set ppc in keywords.... The text for alsaplayer-0.99.76 reads: Description: Media player primarily utilising ALSA Changes: 17 Feb 2004; Ciaran McCreesh <ciaranm@gentoo.org> alsaplayer-0.99.75-r1.ebuild, alsaplayer-0.99.76.ebuild: Changing to -sparc as we don't have ALSA support.... As you can see, the last changelog entry for alsaplayer is a week old, and the last changelog entry for mplayer is dated more than a month ago. Packages had KEYWORDS variable change, but wasn't documented in the ChangeLog.
Well, that explains the behavior of packages.gentoo.org, but shouldn't KEYWORDS variable changes be documented? As I stated before, this would be bad practice.
They should be documented in the ChangeLog, and usually are. If they are not then I think the maintainer of the package should be notified.
