Required build-log

Installing net-misc/hotot I repeatedly hit the following error...

CMake Error at /usr/share/cmake/Modules/FindPackageHandleStandardArgs.cmake:97 (MESSAGE):
Could NOT find Qt4 (missing: QT_QTSQL_INCLUDE_DIR QT_QTSQL_LIBRARY) (found
suitable version "4.8.2", required is "4.7")
Call Stack (most recent call first):
  /usr/share/cmake/Modules/FindPackageHandleStandardArgs.cmake:288 (_FPHSA_FAILURE_MESSAGE)
  /usr/share/cmake/Modules/FindQt4.cmake:1172 (FIND_PACKAGE_HANDLE_STANDARD_ARGS)
  CMakeLists.txt:68 (find_package)

A bit of digging around and trial and error lead to me enabling USE=sql for dev-python/PyQT4 which resolved this error (by adding 'dev-python/PyQt4 sql' to /etc/portage/package.use).

So the ebuild for net-mis/hotot should probably be checking that this is enabled and suggesting that it is enabled if the dependency isn't met.

That said I'm not too hot on ebuilds so could be way off the mark.

Hi, can you post `emerge --info` and `emerge -pv dev-python/PyQt4`, please?

I'm wondering why it detects version 4.8.4 (i have 4.9.1 on amd64, stable since 24 Apr).
Comment 2 Neil 2012-07-25 10:01:53 UTC
Sure...

This fix is wrong. Hotot-qt depends on qt-sql, not PyQt4[sql]. Obviously, PyQt4[sql] pulls the necessary dependency. Also, you put this dependency on all users of hotot, whether they use the Qt client or not.

Why the revbump? The change went into the stable version as well, i take a look at this.
Comment 6 Michael Weber (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-08-29 15:01:52 UTC
ok, the configure phase checks for the qt-sql, but i have no glue why.
It's not linked into the binaries, and it's not needed for "gtk -qt4",

so for now

Comment 8 Michael Weber (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-08-29 22:26:40 UTC
So, i pushed a new snapshot into the tree.

qt-sql is needed for USE=qt4 during the src_configure checks, it's not needed during runtime (at least not obviously).

So, i added `qt4? ( qt-sql )` as (build) DEPEND, and removed PyQT4[sql].

Sorry for the delay and noise.

p.s. If someone figures out how to avoid qt-sql during configure, I'd be glad to fix this.
