Good luck with your business and thanks for all the work you've done for Gentoo.
Infra, please retire jhuebel.
Would you guys mind changing my gentoo bugzilla account to jhuebel -at- gmail.com? I tried to do it myself, but I apparently don't have access to modify bugzilla accounts anymore. :-)
You should be able to change your own bugzilla email. -Jeffrey
Jason is returning to maintain 2 ebuilds currently in the maintainer-wanted group, atomicparsley and sysmon. He is on 1 month probation starting today. While he is on probation, he will commit through me.

He mailed to devrel that he wants to retire: "I’m not really interested in all the fanfare of retiring via an email to gentoo-core or gentoo-dev. I just want to send this simple little email letting you guys know that I’m retiring from Gentoo dev-dom permanently." and so on.
Well, that wasn't the entire email, of course. Here's the full text of it: "I’m not really interested in all the fanfare of retiring via an email to gentoo-core or gentoo-dev. I just want to send this simple little email letting you guys know that I’m retiring from Gentoo dev-dom permanently. For a while, I had a development-friendly work life and everything was grand. But in the middle of November, I lost my job and decided to start my own company. I’m loving my new self-employment, but it takes up all of my free time. I figure leaving on good terms with the Gentoo community is a great way to go. Besides, I will continue to use Gentoo as a user for a long time to come. I may even lurk in the Gentoo IRC channels on occasion. No need to forward my Gentoo email account anywhere. Deleting the account will be fine. I’ll resubscribe to the ML’s I’m interested in using one of my personal accounts. As for my bugzilla account, please change the email address to jhuebel@gmail.com. Thanks for all the fun years (since 2003! Wow!) and see you around the interweb. ;-) Jason Huebel" The remainder is only significant in that I include some information about retiring my accounts and make mention that I'm not leaving because I'm disgruntled or anything. I think it's important for devrel to know that, since it can be a real hit to morale to see people leave on bad terms.
I've changed my bugzilla email address. Also note that I have the following Bugzilla permission bits set, some of which should be removed: bz_canusewhines User can configure whine reports for self canconfirm Can confirm a bug. Developer Relations Access to bugs in the Developer Relations product devrel Developer Relations editbugs Can edit all aspects of any bug. gentoo-dev Gentoo Developers Locked Lock bug from being changed Portage Development Access to bugs in the Portage Development product
Packages I maintain(ed): app-pda/ipodslave media-gfx/kflickr media-sound/taginfo media-video/atomicparsley net-analyzer/sysmon net-misc/dhcping
Retired on the forums.
This user is now retired in: LDAP, cvs.g.o, dev.g.o, Bugzilla, Mailing Lists. Still pending: im.g.o and Planet.
Cleaned up metadata.xml files.
All done.
Jason mailed recruiters a couple days ago about wanting to come back as a staff member. Parts of the mail exchange: > GWN is currently being replaced by a monthly equivalent called GMN. I > CCed Anant who seems to be responsible for it. Please Anant, could you > answer Jason and discuss with him how he could help the GMN project? > Simply reopen Jason's bug and comment on it. I will then take care of > everything else. Thanks in advance. It would be great to have Jason on the GMN team. We can discuss this further, but I can't seem to find the bug you mention :-) Cheers, Anant
I'll have the staff quiz turned in sometime in the coming week. Looking forward to contributing again.
